GOOD READS

I’ve always been a bit of a book worm – I read The Hobbit for fun when I was thirteen so perhaps that’s an understatement – but sadly the demands of adulting and the gravitational pull of my cellphone have taken place of one my truest loves; reading. The ability to escape into far away lands and shape our minds has always had an allure. I started this journey towards the path of enlightenment, higher thinking, emotional awareness if you will, at a point in my life when I felt like my world was spinning. Thankfully, my yearning for knowledge and the comfort of an ACTUAL book in my hand – nothing satisfies me like turning a page, literally – introduced me to some incredible works that have heavily shaped who I am today. I’ve gained insight to how our bodies react to food, realized we are all self-centered humans and we are all designed to be imperfectly perfect.

To this day I keep a collection of quotes from book, podcasts, random conversations and even fleeting moments to guide my actions and always remind me of what’s most important to me; living a life that feeds my soul and everything that encompasses.

I’d like to think I am very fortunate to have had been faced with a fork in the road to either continue mindlessly moving in this world, reacting to everyone and everything or take control of my emotions, my mind, and my life. To choose the latter, I made the decision every day to grow strong. To recognize when my actions didn’t align with my values, to pin point sources of negative energy and eradicate them. I feel it is my duty to share with you pieces of literature and the power of words as you begin your own journey to find who we’re all looking to be all along; ourselves.
